Emergency Government

The Town of Sherman has adopted an emergency action plan that lays out steps to be taken in the event of a broader Town emergency. In general, the plan is for the Board to gather at the Town Hall and coordinate with the Sherman First Responders, the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department, the Iron County Emergency Management Coordinator and follow the protocols contained in the Plan. The Town Chair or in his/her absence another Town Board member has the authority to declare a Town Emergency. Such a designation is done to make the Town eligible to receive federal/state funds when available.
