The annual corn roast is sponsored by Sherman Volunteer Fire Department and Sparks with proceeds benefitting the fire department. The event is held the second Saturday in August from 12 noon to 6pm. This event is held the Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend at the Town Hall.
Located adjacent to the Town Hall, the resale shop sells gently used clothing, household items, sporting goods, tools, books, and other treasures. It is operated by Sparks (the auxiliary to the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department) with proceeds donated to the Fire Department. Beginning the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend and running through late September, the resale shop is open on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s from 12 noon to 4pm. The 2023 Snowshoe Shuffle Event is set for Saturday, February 18. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Sherman First Responders. The Shuffle course is laid out on a 5k trek starting and finishing at the Town Hall. A lunch and raffle follow the walk. The Veteran’s Day Breakfast is held at the Town Hall in early November. It is sponsored by the Women’s Club and held as a social gathering to thank those from the area who have served in the military. The 2023 date will be set in the near future.
