The Town Assessor is mailing out the 2024 assessment letters. This year the Town of Sherman went through a State mandated interim market adjustemnt to bring assessed values in line with State equalized (fair market) values. As the letter explains, most all properties in the Town will see their assessed values increase on average 25%. As explained in the letter from the assessor, the tax rate will decline about 25% before applying any 2024 levy adjustments from the school district, county and town.
Attached is the Notice of Open Book and Board of Review which are posted on the three town bulletin boards located at the Frontier Inn, A&J Trading Post and Town Hall. The assessor will be holding office hours at the Town Hall on Monday, November 25 from noon to 3pm; Tuesday, November 26 from 9am to 12 noon; Wednesday, November 27 from 1pm to 3pm and Monday, December 2 from 1pm to 3pm. The Open Book for the Town is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27 from 1pm to 3pm.
The Board of Review will meet on Wednesday, December 4 from 1pm to 3pm at the Town Hall.
