The Aging & Disability Resource Center is happy to announce the return of our annual “Across the Borders” Senior Information & Awareness Walk. Attached you will find our flyer with the details and save the date invite. This has been a well-attended event for our seniors and community from both Gogebic and Iron County. The walk provides area resources and information for seniors and families looking for aging programs in the area while raising awareness for two important things World Elder Abuse Prevention & Alzheimer’s Longest Day.
The overall color scheme is Purple to recognize both awareness campaigns.
This is a free event great for the whole family to get out move and see what great things we have to offer our community. Each year with our walk we try to offer a raffle prize on each resource vendor table to encourage participants to stop and learn what the agencies have to provide. That being said, we are currently seeking donations for raffle prizes of anything from blankets, basket ideas, gift cards, certificates, coffee mugs etc., the sky is the limit. If you wish to donate a prize please let me know and I can pick it up or donations can be dropped off at the ADRC office located in the old VFW building in Hurley anytime Monday- Friday 8am-4pm.
Please feel free to share with anyone that you know would be interested or check out our Facebook page @ Aging and Disability Resource Center of the North – Iron County.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask Chanel Levra, Mindy Smee or Myself.
